Alice O. King, 47, died on October 7, 2011 as a result of a motorcycle accident near where she lived in Hopatcong, NJ.
Alice was an enthusiastic motorcyclist who raced her motorcycle in the Championship Cup Series at various tracks including Loudon, New Hampshire and Daytona, Florida and once rode cross-country to California. Alice was also a skilled equestrienne who competed in various shows and three day events. She loved all animals, large and small, domestic and wild, and volunteered at various animal shelters.
Her garden was a riot of color and form, and she had just begun a Master Gardener course. It was real estate that brought her to Hopatcong, but before that she had worked in sales for several motorcycle companies in New York City, Massachusetts, and for BMW in NJ. Alice graduated from Nyack High School in 1982, and attended the School of Visual Arts. She was a very talented Artist. She spent a semester in Florence, Italy and recently had been working on her BA at Centenary College in NJ.
Alice is survived by her parents, Jane W. and William E. King of Valley Cottage; her two brothers, David and his partner Billie of Red Hook, NY and Andrew and his partner Julie of Vienna Virginia; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many wonderful friends, most especially her friend Charles Minichiello. Alice will be dearly missed.
The date, time and place of a memorial will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers contribution to a local animal shelter or World Wildlife will be welcomed.
