Meow’s “minions,” to which Avey refers, are the cat’s thousands of loyal followers.
To put his fan following in perspective, here’s a breakdown: The Colonel has 144,000 followers on Instagram and more than 356,000 “likes” on his Facebook page.
“Rest in peace Colonel Meow. A grumpy day indeed,” the Grumpy Cat wrote on his Facebook page with an accompanying picture of the two crotchety cats hanging out together.
Colonel Meow, A Himalayan-Persian crossbreed, rose to fame when Avey began posting pictures of her fuzzy feline, whom she adopted, with hilarious captions usually centered around the cat’s plans to dominate the world.
